CMYKris is a Web Design Agency located in Oakland, California, and was founded in April of 2022 by Kris Shogren. We make world-class experiences in the blink of an eye. Creativity is a core competency, but the core mission of the company is to make the world a better place through innovation and providing world-class experiences that change humankind.

The acronym C, M, Y, K, represents the 4-color print process that is a standard printing method around the world. Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black (Key) colors are utilized in combination to represent all colors of the rainbow on a piece of paper. We value a process for every method and a method for every process.
Kris represents Kris, the founder of the company. Kris believes in leadership from the front lines, not the back. To make a difference in this world, you need to get your hands dirty. He also believes in building Brands first then companies second.

Kris was born and raised in the Bay Area and attended Las Lomas High School graduating in 2006. He is part Swedish, and Chinese, his family immigrated here from Shanghai in the 1930s. He was always a little bit different, and most would remember him as a very quiet person. Now, he has emerged from his shell as a new human. With a new found confidence, he is ready to take on the world, one pixel at a time.
With passion, he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Cal Poly Pomona. After realizing that the real world is less nice and easier to figure out than advertised, he found mediocre success in various Graphic Design roles throughout the Bay Area and LA County. Always persistent, he worked his way up from corporate rank to rank, finding promotions with new roles a commonality. With a passion for learning and a stubbornness to be the best, he always pushed himself hard to be better every day. The pinnacle of his achievements was earning the promotion to Senior User Experience Designer to build an Analytical Insights Dashboard after building a Design System from scratch for a B2B Supply Chain Company in Silicon Valley.
After flying too close to the sun and realizing how business models sustain themselves, he had to make some tough decisions. After much trial and error, he decided to try to pave a new path in life. The key to success will be to always learn and never give up on the dream. With a heavy background in the Tech Industry and a passion for modern technology since the 90s, he is uniquely equipped with the ultimate skill set to provide world-class digital experiences at the speed of light.
